How To {Painted Jewelry}

We’ve become in love with Tom Binn’s neon transformation of rhinestone costume jewelry for months now,  and after sorting through my jewelry I found a pair of earrings I thought could use a fresh new coat of paint. Nail polish goes a long way, and is the easiest way to quickly transform the look of any jewelry piece. Play around with different color combinations and patterns on your pieces, the best part is you can simply change your look according to the season’s most coveted colors with nail polish remover.

You’ll Need:

  • Rhinestone costume jewelry {Forever21 has great affordable pieces like this or this one}
  • Nail Polish {I tried craft paint, but bright nail colors worked the best}
  • Thin paintbrush
  • Nail polish remover {if needed}

Using a thin paint brush, carefully paint the rhinestones. I felt three coats of nail polish looked the best.

Allow your jewels to completely dry. I love how these colors look together! Can’t wait to get myself a bunch of necklaces to paint in great colors and pile on top of each other!

Happy crafting!
