Friday Favorites

tumblr_mnfvz25ed01s2948io1_1280Can you believe that we’re halfway through the year, and it’s June already? I still can’t seem to fathom that my twenty-fourth birthday is just a few days away. I can’t help but look back at all the places I’ve been, people I’ve met, and things I hadn’t done before. I remember excitedly packing my bags for our Jamaican vacation…oh how I wish I was sailing and watching the sunset over sandy shores, now that would be the best birthday. This week I also had my own eat pray love moment, you know that the scene where Elizabeth is sitting on the floor of her rustic little Italian apartment, reading the newspaper with steamed asparagus and a boiled egg, and she finally experiences the sweetness of doing nothing (dolce far niente) I miss having dinner every night outside, enjoying a  glass of wine, if we’re lucky it’s still a bottle of my grandfather’s from Portugal. The summer heat has that effect on me, I just want to enjoy doing nothing, and sometimes you need to do just that. Happy weekend!
