Spring Cleaning How To: Your Daily Jewelry

Spring Cleaning How To: Your Daily JewelrySpring is definitely here, and while the days are getting perfect to be outdoors, there is still spring cleaning to be done. I’ve shared with you how to clean your makeup brushes and tech devices, and today I’m showing you how you can easily clean your jewels. When your daily jewels don’t have that same sparkle, please save yourself the trip and money, and don’t go buying one of those jewelry cleaners or having them professionally scrubbed. I’ve been cleaning my jewelry with a DIY cleaner for years, using ingredients you have in your pantry right now.

I’ve cleaned my jewelry using different methods, but it wasn’t until I stumbled upon this how to, that my jewelry truly sparkled! There are staple jewelry pieces I own that I wear everyday, especially my gold dream necklace and flower diamond ring I’ve had since childhood, and with all the baking, cooking, crafting, gardening and everything else I do with my hands, my daily jewelry gets dirty pretty quickly. So I like to clean them on a constant basis, and this how to is simple and quick to do at least once a week. Here’s how to get those dainty rings and necklaces you love to wear dazzling again…

You’ll Need

  • Small bowl
  • 1 tablespoon – Salt
  • 1 tablespoon – Baking Soda
  • 1 teaspoon – Dish Detergent {use your favorite brand}
  • 1 cup – Hot Water
  • Aluminum foil
  • Paper towel
  • Old toothbrush

Spring Cleaning How To: Your Daily JewelryI didn’t take very good care of my first Alex and Ani bracelets when I got them a few years back so now I make sure I don’t get them wet too often, and wash them properly. The gold can discolor, but the rustic old coppery look is what I love most about them, especially my Buddah.

Spring Cleaning How To: Your Daily JewelryRemove your jewelry and use the toothbrush to gently scrub around any closures, groves and gemstones. I’ve used this cleaner on gold, silver, diamonds, and other gems and have had amazing results on everything! Rinse each jewelry after scrubbing, pat dry and lay onto a lint free cloth.

Spring Cleaning How To: Your Daily JewelryNow how simple was that!

Dropped off my winter coats to get cleaned so at this point, I’m just about done with spring cleaning. How about you, done any organizing and cleaning before we spend our days outside in the sun?
